Hypnosis is a deep state of relaxation, during which the client is still awake and aware of his/her surroundings, participating in the session and is ALWAYS in control of themselves.
In the late 1700s, Anton Mesmer, the founder of hypnosis, created “magentism” which introduced the idea of being in an alternate state. Over time, magnetism evolved into hypnotism. Initially thought of as a sleep state, Dr. James Braid coined the term “hypnosis” after the Greek God of sleep, Hypnos. However, as we now know, hypnosis doesn’t actually involve sleep, but is instead a theta brainwave function, while sleep is a delta brainwave function. In the mid 1950s, Dr. Milton Erickson founded the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis and helped the American Medical Association classify hypnosis as a therapeutic medical treatment and not an “alternative” treatment.
Hypnosis will be successful ONLY if the client has the desire to achieve his/her goals. Clients will not do or say anything that is against their morals, ethics or beliefs, so they cannot be forced into doing or saying anything. Whatever clients deem “private” is theirs and cannot be coaxed out.
Hypnotherapy gives the client the ability to benefit from the mostly inaccessible 88% of their brain power, which facilitates and expedites the process of change to make the client’s goals ATTAINABLE! Hypnotherapy can unleash the power of the unconscious mind to turn the client’s goals into reality.
Through hypnotherapy, you can modify beliefs that no longer serve you and learn the value of communicating with the memories and feelings stored in your body. Transform your life by resolving the past and realizing your full potential!
