A Reiki session usually begins with the client expressing their presenting complaint. What exactly is going on in their lives, how they would like to change it, what they have already attempted and what the current results have been.
Once the client has verbalized enough, I ask them to specify their intention. Utilizing a pendulum, I check their chakras, take notes as to which are open, closed, slow, blocked or even reversed. I continue the session by facilitating the energy through their body. (I use a NO TOUCH technique.) Subsequently, I re-check the chakras ensuring that each is open and flowing with ease. If one isn’t quite as open and functional to the extent I would like it to be, I re-address the issue dealing with that particular chakra, while I continue to facilitate more energy transfer. I re-check and once I can confirm that all chakras are open and flowing to the best of their abilities, the session is complete.
At this point, the client usually feels extremely relaxed, calm, refreshed and emotionally stable. At the end of the session I ask the client to share an affirmation that comes to mind. That word/phrase/sentence is usually an inspirational moment for the client and it’s usually what the client will focus on during the week in between sessions.
As the sessions progress, the presenting complaint usually seems to ‘resolve itself’ allowing the client to continue to grow, mature and continue on their journey.
When I combine modalities, I usually facilitate the Reiki energy during the hypnotic portion of my hypnotherapy sessions. I believe that a multi-directional approach offers the client more tools and quicker results. Clients who have experienced the combined techniques seem to respond more effectively. They enjoy the deeper letting go that occurs, while their unconscious mind is more open. Clients who accept both modalities utilized simultaneously reach somnambulistic depths with more ease.
